Afternoon Pre-Prep Session - Enrolling Now
The Preparatory Department of The Wallace High School offers an excellent education from the ages of 2 years 10 months to 11 years.
Our Afternoon Pre-Prep session offers children from 2 years and 10 months their all-important introduction to the learning environment. This session is flexible and children can attend anywhere between one and five afternoons per week. Children transfer into a morning session for their preschool year before making a smooth transition into Primary 1 already familiar with their surroundings. Our Pre School Teacher, Mrs. Ferguson plans the structure of all activities carefully in order to develop the children’s self-confidence and nurture a love of learning. The addition of social experience and plenty of play provide a fully rounded educational foundation during the vital early years. We have ‘Outstanding’ arrangements for Child Protection and Pastoral Care and all pupils have access to the caring support of a school nurse. The Pre-Prep was inspected in 2016 and it was found that, “the children’s welfare is of paramount importance to staff who have implemented extensive systems to assure their safety and wellbeing at all times.” Parental feedback is high with one commenting “Staff are excellent. I couldn’t be happier with my son’s care in this facility.” From P1-7, The Preparatory Department offers a combination of small, non-composite classes as well as experienced and enthusiastic staff. Emphasis is on developing the whole child through an extensive range of extra-curricular activities including rugby, swimming, hockey, cricket and music tuition. We offer a Breakfast Club and flexible After School Care until 5:45pm. Pupils have access to Grammar school facilities including sports pitches, ICT Suites, Gymnasiums and Home Economics rooms. The Grammar School facilities will be enhanced further by a £3.2m investment commencing in 2016. Our recently-appointed Head of Department, Mr R. Lawther would be most willing to show you around our thriving Department. To arrange a walk-around please contact: Mrs E. Agnew, [email protected] 028 9267 2311. www.wallaceprep.org |
