Wallace Prep Seats £3.7k for Sport Relief

Pupils from Wallace Prep, Lisburn swapped their exercise books for their sports kit recently to take part in a week long challenge for Sport Relief.
It all kicked off on Monday 29th February when pupils marked the leap day with activities around leaping and jumping.
Pupils then displayed their dance and aerobic skills with an energetic Zumba session with Mrs Gilmore which also involved a special staff session at the children's request.
Next up, muscular endurance was tested with some Circuit training with Mr Hanvey.
All of these events accumulated in the pupils taking part in a Wallace Mile with Pre-Prep and P1-4 running one mile and P5-7 running two miles. Of the mile, one pupil Erin, P4 said "I was really proud that I did it and that we were able to raise so much money to help other people."
It wasn't just the pupils who got involved. Staff were only too happy to accept a challenge to keep an exercise bike going for the entire school day.
Throughout the week pupils were sponsored to do each event and we were absolutely overwhelmed by the support received from our children's family and friends. Our grand total for Sport Relief finished at over £3700.
PE Coordinator and event organiser Matthew Smyth said, "We love getting our school involved with Sport Relief. Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and help people living incredibly tough lives, across the UK and beyond. We can't thank our pupils, families and staff enough for their efforts in raising such a staggering amount for this worthy cause."
