Creating Confident Children

At The Wallace High School Preparatory Department and Pre-Prep, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional primary and pre-preparatory education in a warm, inclusive environment.

Our vision, Creating Confident Children, shapes a school experience where pupils are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We follow a holistic, whole-child approach that balances high academic standards with strong pastoral care, tailored learning support, and a deep commitment to developing each child’s confidence, and creativity.

Children benefit from a rich and varied curriculum that includes extensive sporting, musical, and artistic opportunities, alongside an exciting outdoor learning programme that promotes curiosity, resilience, and wellbeing. Our distinctive location affords pupils rich opportunities for outdoor education, complemented by direct access to the extensive resources of the Grammar School.

Underpinned by our CORE values—Commitment, Opportunity, Respect, and Excellence—Wallace Prep offers a nurturing, future-focused education where every child is known, valued, and inspired.

We hope this website gives you a glimpse of the vibrant life at our school—but nothing compares to experiencing it in person. We’d be delighted to welcome you for a visit and show you all that Wallace Prep has to offer. To arrange a tour, please contact the office on 028 9267 2311 or email prep@wallacehigh.net.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Mrs Anna Patterson
Head of Preparatory Department

Huge shoutout to our P6 and P7 legends who smashed it at today’s Tag Rugby tournament! πŸ‰πŸ’¨ From lightning-fast sprints to some seriously impressive tagging, the energy on the pitch was electric. We were especially proud of those stepping onto the field for the very first timeβ€”you played like pros! Taking home several wins was the perfect cherry on top of a fantastic day! 🌟
P7 had a brilliant day at the Titanic Museum today! 🚒✨ The pupils thoroughly enjoyed exploring the interactive exhibits and taking part in an engaging workshop. A fantastic day full of learning and fun!
P5-7 have really enjoyed their cricket session over the last number of weeks with @lisburncricketclub . Thank you!
P6 were outside estimating and then measuring items in the playground. They loved getting to use the trundle wheels!
We had a great time at Wallace Park celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week! It was so lovely to see the older pupils helping and playing with the younger pupils in such a caring and supportive way. A wonderful morning filled with kindness, teamwork and lots of smiles! πŸ’›
Yesterday, we joined a million children from all over the world in a live workout with Joe Wicks for Mental Health Awareness week. It was great to see everyone come together to move and be active!
We have been getting stuck into our new topic of Under the Sea in P1/2 this week. πŸ πŸ™πŸŸ
The rugby team were out playing at the Best Festival yesterday at Banbridge Acamdemy. As always, it was a great event with some tough competition! The team played exceptionally well and we are so proud of all of them. Look at those action shots!
P7 had a great time making thaumatropes as part of our Victorian topic! They tried and tested two different versions - one using straws and another using string. It was fantastic to see their creativity and problem-solving skills in action while exploring this classic Victorian toy!
