PE & Sports

At Wallace Prep, we believe sport plays a vital role in every child’s development. From an early age, pupils are introduced to a wide variety of physical activities, helping them discover new interests while building important life skills like teamwork, perseverance, and resilience. Our goal is to keep children active, promote healthy habits, and help each one find a sport they truly enjoy.
Our PE curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support physical development at every stage. In Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, the focus is on building core movement skills through fun, energetic lessons that boost confidence and coordination. As pupils progress through the school, they continue to develop their abilities and build a positive, lasting relationship with physical activity.
We encourage pupils to see competition as a healthy and exciting part of sport. Whether it’s hockey, netball, swimming, rugby, or football, representing Wallace Prep is an experience that teaches teamwork, dedication, and pride.
Our pupils also benefit from outstanding facilities. We have access to the Gym and Sports Hall at Wallace High School, as well as spacious outdoor pitches for hockey and rugby. Younger pupils, from Pre-Prep to P4, enjoy weekly sessions at Salto Gymnastics Centre, while pupils from P4 to P7 take part in swimming lessons at Lisburn Leisureplex as part of the PE programme.
